2017 Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference

The National Centre for the Prosecution of Animal Cruelty (NCPAC) held its third Animal Cruelty Prosecution Conference on December 4, 2017 in Ottawa. Delegates discussed the link between violence against animals and violence against humans, effective approaches to the Dangerous Offender assessment process, important considerations in preparing cases and how to utilize digital technology in prosecutions. They also discussed important recent legal decisions impacting the animal cruelty prosecution landscape in Canada.

This conference brought together more than 20 prosecutors and 30 allied professionals from across the country.
